Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
“Darkest Hours” is a clever visual metaphor of how our thoughts can consume us, particularly if those thoughts are motivated by anger or resentment. It reveals how circular and repetitive those thoughts can be while they completely overwhelm our minds. I think it works well to convey that concept. It is one of just many excellent self-portraits by Creep Wolff.
A rare color picture from Creep’s stream is next:
“Seeing Red” is a rare color photo in this stream. I love how he used light in this picture and how his avatar is looking out of the frame, diverging from the rule that suggests always looking into the frame. The thing is, sometimes when you know what you are doing, you can break the rules with good results. The idea is that if the subject is looking or moving into the frame, then the viewers eyes go into the frame, too.
“Dissolve” seems to be another metaphor or perhaps just an exploration of a new photoshop tutorial. Whether a metaphor for how our individuality can dissipate in a crowd or practicing new skills, this is an effective, arresting picture.
Check out Creep Wolff’s photostream. He loves to play with shadow and many of his pictures are visually dark with moments of light. There is a very noir feeling to his work and I love it.
