Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
I think Shin Nayla’s “That Day” caught my eye because I just finished a chapter in Her Here where a woman, spending a month in a Thai monastery, is frustrated when her shower does not work, accidentally leaves the water on, and returns to a flooded house, but it’s the hot time of year so she decided to lay down in the water on the floor and sleep there. I’m not sure how this school room got flooded, but she seems to be enjoying it. I love how her hair curls underwater and can barely be distinguished from the grain of the wood.

“I’ll Be Yours” is an increasingly rare sophisticated fashion shot. I love the details, the purse, the coat on her shoulders, and the subtle color palette. I love it, even though I think the coat is defying gravity.
“Wonderland” is a lovely shot with prismatic flashes of light in the perfectly ordinary bedroom in a meadow with a giant alarm clock on a wagon. I guess that’s one way of making sure you get out of bed in the morning. It would be hard to just hit the snooze button.
Shin Nayla’s photostream is a mix of fun, fantasy, and fashion. There are imaginative pics like “Wonderland” mixed with urbane sophistication such as “I’ll be Yours” and absolutely madcap joie de vivre as in “That Day.” I love that while there is a consistency in shooting pics that put her fashions in whimsical context, there is plenty of variety.
