Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
I love Metanoia’s “Therapy”, and the name made me laugh. Of course, science agrees that being outdoors is good for your mental and physical health. Science even suggests that virtual outdoors can help your health, too. So “Therapy” is therapy. It’s also a beautifully-composed picture. His avatar is centered on the vertical line that marks the golden mean and his foot is right on the sweet spot. He also used the geometry of diagonal lines to get us to follow the avatar’s line of vision.
Equally beautiful composition ahead:

With “I’ll Be Okay”, he uses the Rule of Fifths to place his avatar. He uses a powerful diagonal again. I love it for many of the same reasons that I love “Therapy.”
“Walk Alone” is another excellent photo. I like that he uses a different angle and shows only the lower half of his avatar. It focuses the picture on the idea of walking. There is a solitary feeling to his picture that is magnified by not showing his face.
I love Metanoia’s stream. His pictures are often desaturated, even when they are in color. He is spare and minimalist and creates pictures with extraordinary discipline while still interacting with the “natural world” of Second Life.
