Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Kimberlyann’s photostream is full of striking images. “Lone Wolf'' seems just terrifying to me and I love it. It makes me think of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, ostensibly the most haunted forest in the world. You don’t have to go out west to find ghost towns. There’s also this “Blair Witch Project” vibe, the blurred and ever-expanded trees.

“Summer of 42” is a nostalgic photo with sepia tones to give it that aged look. It’s obviously inspired by the movie and book though I have not read it or watched it. I like that she dressed in period for the movie. Reading about the film, all I can say is more around adult-child relationships have changed a lot, thankfully. In terms of composition, I like the use of a film camera in the foreground to help frame the picture. The avatar’s left side is right on the vertical fifth of the picture. Though usually one centers on the line, it is close enough to the Rule of Fifths to give us a well-composed picture.
I love this untitled picture. I love how weather can be so wildly different in the same moment. I remember the first time I saw it raining on the other side of the street while I was standing in sunshine. This makes me think of that. On the left, we are in the blue, cool shade and on the right, the golden, warmth of the sun. It always looks magical but it is also completely real.
You definitely should follow Kimberlyann’s photostream. It was truly impossible to pick her three best pictures. They are all outstanding, so I instead chose three wildly different pics. She loves to use light as a central element in her pictures and anyone wanting to see how powerful light can be in photos, she is a perfect person to follow.
