Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Sapa’s stream features striking cyber-pop ads her pose store and haunting portraits and other photos. This headshot is beautiful, but with the traces of tears and of life that has not been easy. There is a grim underbelly in the world and Sapa wants us not to look away. For those who like to see how much is raw shot and what is editing, she gives us a link to the raw photo.
Well, we can’t really move like that, can we? Click here:
“I broke down” gives me the heebie-jeebies but in a good way. You know, like when you watch those dancers doing auditions and their limbs move in ways that should not be possible. Every once in a while, it’s fun to see someone do something not possible in real life.
I love this untitled picture. In many of her pictures she uses black with the other three printing colors cyan, magenta, and yellow. Those three colors along with black (called key) are the CMYK four-color-process used by printers. She is taking color to the basics. I know most people think of the color being based on RGB, red, green, and blue because we are much directed toward the internet. I worked in a plate room for several years burning negatives and plates for printing, so my instinct is to think of color using CMYK and seeing them is like seeing old friends.
I love Sapa’s stream. I love her use of black and white with one or two pops of color. I like her commitment to the strange. Some of my favorite pics are her vendor ads which, as policy, are not the sort of pictures featured in this column, so you need to check them out yourself. There is a grittiness to her pictures, though she doesn’t shy from pure aesthetic beauty (some NSFW) when challenged. I love that she thinks about color and uses it sparingly. She’s definitely someone to follow.
