Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Blip Mumfuzz has a thing for lines. You can see it in the leading lines that draw us into “Path.” She illustrates a couple of facts about leading lines, they don’t have to be straight so long as they take us somewhere and although they usually go off into the horizon, they are allowed to veer left if they do so as subtly as this path does. The turn is so close to the edge of the frame, it is only perceptible with your second look. On one level this picture is very simple but there is real thought in how it was framed. There are six pictures in this series and they should be considered as a single body of work. They are all so good I thought about featuring just this series, but then you would be missing out on so much more.
For the side of a house and a window like you’ve not seen before, click here:
“Tulum Window v2” is really just a picture of a house with a window. But the way it is taken so close and with the wash of colors, the full spectrum of ROYGBIV, but with the R at the end. The way she comes in so close the branches of the vines become a mass of vertical lines. Again, the lines are what make her picture unique and exciting. The ways she framed the picture, she takes it away from its mundane reality and creates this abstracted version where the fact of the window and shutters are less important than the lines and colors.
“Favela” is another example of how by choosing her own unique angle for framing the picture so that there is a sort of abstraction, making this a picture about lines and curves rather than buildings and streets.
So, you should follow Blip Mumfuzz. There is such a wealth of great ideas and pictures on her stream I struggled to find just three and I regret every one I left out. I wanted to share every single one of her path pictures.. Then she has all these pictures of grass, bold, colorful, and abstracted. There’s an electric forest. You should definitely check out her albums. She has stories to tell there including a fairy tale and a murder mystery. I also want to thank Blip for sending me a FlickrMail and asking me to take a look at her work. I can’t find every great artist all on my own. I appreciate the recommendations and invitations from artists and their admirers. Don’t be modest, know your worth.

So nice to see Blip getting the recognition she deserves. I have always found her work and the way she "sees" a setting to be amazing.
