Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
This amazing picture is by ICY SL (BruiserBest in-world.) Whiskey Monday sent me a message to check out this Second Life photographer and I am awestruck. The colors are rich and so are the finer details. Meanwhile, the use of depth of field gives it such a realistic look that it is hard to believe it is Second Life, but it is. He even includes SLurls for pics that he doesn’t build the setting for on his skybox.
I could have picked every third picture in Icy’s photostream and it would be fantastic. I chose this one above in honor of my long-time blogging partner, Gidge Uriza, and her amazing lizard, Riddle, who has been through surgery and an eye infection. (She just got back home from the University of Georgia veterinary school where they have done well by her.) Even the color is perfect for Riddle! Now stay well, Riddle!

In "Winter Horses at Endless", I love how the more distant horse is framed by the triangle formed by the legs and the head as the horse sniffs the snow trying to find grazing under it. It’s a cold and chilly picture. Even the horse’s eye is an icy blue; it is perfect viewing for an “Extreme Heat Weather Event.” Mind over matter and all that. The picture was taken at Endless [teleport link here.] I love when SLurls are included.
This slightly macabre version of Red Riding Hood’s woodsman is a reminder to us that there is no savior in the original story. Icy SL wrote a brief history of the story, beginning with this:
“Originally in most versions of Red Riding Hood, no woodsman came and saved her or her grandmother, they both died horrible deaths and that is the main point. It is to warn the innocent and defenceless to avoid falling for cheats, liars and imposters.”
You should definitely follow IcySL. Every picture is extraordinary and his art has been exhibited at a few in-world galleries. His focus is nature, the animals, the sky, the trees, and even the wee amphibians. There is not a single bad picture to be found.
