Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Tooku Fadlan’s “Amrun” may end up my favorite picture of the year. When I saw it, I just said, “Wow” before sitting there looking at it for I don’t know how long. I love the moody lighting from the moon through the clouds. Or should I say moony lighting? I love the shadow of the fence creating this parallel set of leading lines diverging as the land rises and falls. It is just magical.

“Endless:Permafrost” is an outdoor photo with the minimalist sensibility that always appeals to me. I love how the light plays such a lovely role, gently falling on the cat and casting the cordwood into shadow. I have a strong physical memory attached to the cordwood frame used to measure out a cord for sale. When I was in high school, my dad and uncle sawed down birch trees felled by a tornado and I chopped them into firewood. One hundred cords of birch paid for my high school trip to Spain. I can almost feel it in my shoulders just looking at the picture.
“Missing Melody” was chosen just to demonstrate how varied Tooku's photostream is. Here there is this rich color, the use of depth of field, a picture zoomed in close, not from a distance. The opposite of the other pics, but still a picture that is beautifully framed and carefully composed.
I think it is impossible to find a bad picture in Tooku Fadlan’s photostream, not that I want you to try. It’s much more fun to look for what you love. I just discovered Tooku last week and seriously, I am in love with this photostream. Seriously, I didn’t even click on the shot of the whiskey decanter because I thought it was real life...and then, while writing this I see it is not.
P.S. I am pretty sure the adorable kitty is real life.
