As of today, gachas are officially banned in Second Life (with some gacha fans going over to gacha-like games), but don't expect the legacy of gachas to disappear anytime soon. Checking the Second Life Marketplace now, nearly 900,000 items are still listed under the Gachas category (resales of various gacha items and collections, etc.)
That's huge:
This makes gacha items a top-selling category in the Marketplace, second only to the 2,978,225 items categorized under Apparel. So while I still suspect we will see a drop of in-world activity and sims in Second Life, as all those hardcore gacha fans go elsewhere for their gacha fun (and many gacha-themed sim owners close up shop), it's a safe bet that gacha-related activity on the SL Marketplace will continue as long as Second Life does.
