Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Fredizzle Brown’s “Black Licorice” is a wry title for a guy with a cigar though the way he’s smoking it and the long ash, perhaps we should call it a cee-gar. The avatar looks a bit rough around the edges, but then that is the point. Fredizzle is not interested in cookie cutter avatars with conventional beauty. He’s looking for folks on the downside of power, folks who struggle and whose struggles show on their faces. His photostream is a gallery of what Hank Williams once called “Pictures from Life’s Other Side.”

“Gasoline” seems to me a picture of exhaustion and despair. Her eyes are bloodshot and drawn. Her makeup has run down her face. He takes inspiration from the song “Gasoline” by Seether. From the lyrics, this seemed to capture the mood.
“She's got nothing but shame
She takes pills for pain
She's got no one to blame
Except for me.
For me."
“What Makes A Good Man?” is another avatar who has stories to tell. You can imagine a life from his appearance. Maybe he is in a band, maybe he runs a boutique dispensary. Whatever it is, he’s no ordinary avatar.
Fredizzle Brown’s photostream is a revelation of how intriguing and unique our avatars can be. There is no ordinary avatar among his hundreds of photos. There’s a lot of humor, cockiness, bravado, and pain. There’s a lot of humanity.

I'm so glad Fredizzle has been noticed and featured! I think he's one of the best photographers I've seen on flickr!
