Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Nimil Blackwood combines a fascination with the macabre and fantastical in her photostream. In “Siren,” she presents a siren whose beauty is balanced with horror. The color and reduced contrast reinforces the feeling of being underwater where the light is filtered by sea. It’s both beautiful and frightening, exactly the line Nimil walks.

“Goddess of the Night” made me smile. If Mucha had a taste for the macabre, he would not have done better. This is a very art nouveau style of photo with that embellished moon with a fantasy avatar. I love it.
“Make New Friends” is a delightfully macabre image. The avatar seems created from mannequin pieces even though she is alive. It seems like a clever iteration of Frankenstein but with less grotty pieces.
If you feel like Halloween all year round, you should follow Nimil Blackwood’s photostream. Each picture is a new concept. There is no sameness to her pictures which makes her stream endlessly interesting.
