Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
SL image makers, here's a fun challenge: Recreate a movie poster in Second Life, tag it #SLMovieTribute on Flickr, and I will choose some of my favorites to feature in an upcoming post. I'll also feature them on my Flickr in a a gallery. Deadline is November 15.
For inspiration, here's some previous examples.
Burleh Leonard (above) posted this fabulous homage to the movie poster from Out of Africa charmed me by not being an exact recreation. Instead he made the lighting darker as though the sun is setting. It is more subtle and screened the movie title so it fades into the grass. I like this so much better as it foreshadows the tragedy of the film so much more than the sun-drenched original.

Jaeden Quinn created a more faithful movie poster though she added her own touches including some animals and a bike. The sunshine illuminates this picture so much more as she seems to focus on the love story that animates the film rather than the tragedies that accumulate.
This reminded me of a great Second Life Photo Challenge from Strawberry Singh [strawberry.linden] back in 2013, asking people to create movie posters in Second Life. This was my contribution.
Wouldn’t it be fun to do this again? So how about it? Once again, recreate a movie poster, tag it #SLMovieTribute and I will choose some of my favorites to feature and put all of them in a gallery. One caveat, Flickr will not allow me to put pictures in a gallery that are not “Safe” so make your tributes Flickr-safe.
