Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Dominic Darkmatter’s photostream is an interesting combination of portraits of other avatars like this “Inquisitor,” microblogging photos, and pictures of an adorable dog. I love the subtle lighting the reflects off his jacket and highlights the lower part of his face. It’s a gorgeous portrait and Dominic includes a gyazo showing his editing process from raw photo shot with a greenscreen to finished portrait.

“Ilus IV” is another remarkable portrait. It feels like a scene on Tatooine. Again, he links to the raw photo shot with a greenscreen so you can see what is photo and what is digital painting. In the description, he lists many of the people he credits for their tutorials and where he got his PhotoShop brushes, so if you’re interested in brushing up on your skills, the description has some suggestions on where to look.
Of course, we have to include at least one picture of Dominic Darkmatter himself. “雷電” (Thunder and Lightning, thanks Google) was the picture that first caught my eye in someone else’s favorites. It is so powerful and striking. Again, he links to the raw shot shot with a greenscreen so you can see his work. I love how powerful this picture is. He also includes styling details in the description if you like the look.
Dominic Darkmatter’s photostream is a great collection of work. He really brings the pictures to life and every avatar shows their personality in the pictures. His stream is filled with interesting avatars who seem more than two-dimensional characters. They all have a story.
