Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
One of my favorite posts from 2021 was this one that featured Nicholas Huntsman who recreated Saturday Evening Post covers with his own pictures. I love the wit and macabre sense of humor. Look at the treasure he posted on Monday.

I love Tooku Fadlan’s stream and the post featuring their pictures remains a favorite for the year. They compose such extraordinary pictures from still life close-ups to landscapes. Their pictures are always original and beautiful. If I were to make a Christmas card, I would love to use this gorgeous winter scene.
Another favorite post featured Illy S. I am politically active and am drawn to people who advocate for human rights and justice and her thoughtful pictures come with a political context that gives them even more power. She recently did a pic inspired by Larry Blackmon of Cameo and he asked her to send it to him so he could hang it in his home. Second Life art inspires! As Lily wrote, “Second Life can open so many doors for you if you just believe it can.”
Another favorite post was this one featuring Karma Weymann. The picture above was inspired by Edward Hopper and you can see that at a glance. She did so well in channeling his aesthetic. Her stream is so much fun because she doesn’t care about looking perfect, graceful, and idealized. She is always moving, experimenting, and finding new ways to see.
I also love this post featuring Sheldon Bergman. His pictures are so thought-provoking and original. He has the ability to deconstruct our metaphors to create unique and often hilarious pictures from the literal words. For example, the picture of a woman adapting to rising sea levels by having her head stretch above water.
This post featuring Creep has some of my favorite pictures. I love his exploration of new techniques and thought “Darkest Hours” was a great illustration of how we sabotage ourselves. His work continues to be hauntingly beautiful and thoughtful.
This post seeking out the pictures people made replicating a famous 1932 photograph has to be on my favorite list. I love homage pictures. I like to see how people find ways to make their image new and their own, not a perfect copy, but an homage.
Another favorite was this post featuring the almost-always hilarious Randonee Noel. And she’s still shooting some of the funniest pics on Flickr. Be sure to check out her album featuring her dog Kerby.
Those are just a few of my favorites from the year. It’s hard to choose because there is just so much to love.
