Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Kai Wirsig is wearing some serious body armor in this picture. I like the form of this picture, how it’s cropped and framed so the gun is pointing just past the viewer and the end of barrel is cropped out. ("I only changed the saturation," Kai notes in the image description. "No other photo processing,") He also makes great use of light and shadow. Bonus! In Second Life, he can wear his body armor without a shirt and there’s no chafing.
Kai makes the diagonal frame work for him, see how here.
Like most people, I have come to hate the horizontal and diagonal virus that has overtaken so many Second Life photos. I get it, people want their pictures to be chosen as group headers so much they will make pictures that irritate their followers and insult their style. And yes, you can show an entire outfit without paging down if the picture is horizontal, the problem is, I won’t look at it. However, Kai demonstrates again and again that he can work with that framework and produce exciting pictures that do not require anyone to turn their head sideways and that make sense on their own. This picture of him pausing to look as he is driving is on the diagonal and it’s perfect.
In “Nuclear Bomb” he achieves the same picture that makes sense as it is without anyone cocking their head sideways. It’s a great live-action picture showing the jumping through the air while shooting a gun movement we see in TV and movies. The message is clear, “Welcome to the New Reality.”
Kai Wirsig’s photostream is full of striking photos full of action and energy. He’s definitely worth following.
