Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Cynthia Deere’s “Wine and Cheese” is an adorable picture with beautiful composition. The horizon is two-thirds from the bottom, following the Rule of Thirds while the dog is placed according to the Golden Ratio. That tree in the distance is also placed according to the Rule of Thirds, exactly two-thirds from the left. It’s beautifully composed while looking completely natural and spontaneous. I love how she tells stories with her dog.

“It All Started with Bubble Gum” is another dog lover’s story. Including five dogs, not four dogs, definitely follows the Rule of Odd Numbers. The sidewalk and wall provide lines to lead our eyes. As to what happened, I guess Second Life dogs can operate gumball machines.
I love “Dog Park Ahead,” not least because a dog seems to be driving. Again she uses the Rule of Odd Numbers with five dogs and three vehicles. She uses leading lines as well, though the focus of the picture is right up front.
Cynthia Deere’s photostream has pictures she has taken of art exhibitions and landscapes in SL, but her real passion seems to be portraying the delights of dogs. There are occasional cats and farm animals, birds and other wildlife, but mostly there are dogs. Lots and lots of dogs and the pictures are full of lighthearted humor. Definitely give her a follow, her pictures are like a shot of sunshine.
