Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Boudicca Amat has made portraiture a fine art. Her stream is dominated by striking head shots such as Olenna that seem to say much more than here is a pretty avatar. They suggest entire stories and not with a filter creating wild smiles. Take this picture, she has the resting face of an avatar but we get more from her headdress and outfit and the contemplative pose of her body. She seems to be looking inward, more than at anything in particular and one has to wonder what she is thinking.

This is her most recent picture and is titled with a quote, good advice for anyone: “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” She’s wearing late 19th century fashions and has the ears of an elf, so I assume this may be for roleplay. There’s a glint in her eye. She looks ready to tackle the world and take no prisoners.
This is another picture titled with a quote. With the sunflower, it seems to signify support for the people of Ukraine: “There have tyrants and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall.” Let’s hope so. I love how she takes this out of time with a cyborg avatar, which is far into the future. As a tribute to Ukraine, I like that it is so original and oblique, asking us to infer rather than passively receive her message.
Boudicca Amat’s photostream is also a microblog unlike any other. She credits using tags. I haven’t seen it before, but it’s certainly cuts down on repetition. I am drawn to her stream by her extraordinary pictures, though. She really does know how to style and shoot avatars who suggest character, not just beauty.
