Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Alex Nova’s photostream makes me think of the phrase from Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, “For now we see through a glass darkly” which has been made more accurate and less poetic in modern translations, such as: “For now we see a dim reflection…” I like the old phrase, as it is so much more fluid. It is an idea that suits more than just this picture “Ich habe auf dich gewartet” (I waited for you.) I love the lighting in this pic, so focused on her that we barely perceive him in the background.

“Rouge” is captivating. I love how he dares to give us a picture that is so very dark most of it is hidden and how the red of her hair is picked out by the light, illuminated so beautifully, almost as though lit from within. Of course, not like the horrors of full bright. This pic is the one that first drew me in.
“Non odiare” is another example of how brilliantly he uses the dark. Here the light illuminates his face and hand. I love this chiaroscuro effect. It’s a great example of how evocative the shadows can be.
Alex Nova’s photostream is full of shadows. He also has some pics that are well-lit but I fell in love with his chiaroscuro work. I also love a recent pic that seems a bit surreal. He’s talking to a bird bigger than he is. He has a short video that shows that he moves through SL in the dark as well.
