Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Foxi McCalister has a way of presenting something completely incongruous as though it is the most ordinary thing and why did no one think of it before. Take “Numb….” for example. Of course someone can walk across the keys while the piano floats in the air, where else could it float? Her skin is dirty and scratched, as though she were still three and playing in mud puddles. Combine the roughhousing dirt and scratches with the genteel elegance of the ballet shoes and you get an illustration of the athleticism behind the dancer.

“Lost on you…” is simply lovely. The wind blows gently, the ribbons on the umbrella and her hair actually look like they are blowing in the same wind. The same direction, the same intensity, the wind scudding over the water. There is a tiny incongruity, an old-fashioned Victrola in what is otherwise a modern scene.
“Six Impossible Things” might not show six impossible things, but I wonder about that dog. I just love the joy in the picture. The slight diagonal adds to the sense of adventure.
Foxi McCalister’s photostream is full of fun. You should follow her for a bit of joy every day.
