Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Tab Tatham is a Flickr microblogger whose style is maximally appealing. Whiskey Monday pointed me her way with this comment, “I LOVE it so much. I'm a maximalist and this just makes me want to move in.”
I’m not a maximalist and this makes me nervous, but that does not mean I don’t think it’s gorgeous. I admire the exuberance, the abundance of color, texture, and layers of elements to catch my eyes, but every item on the floor makes me think of Dorothy McHugh calling that she’s fallen and can’t get up. [Click here for hilarious compilation.] Thankfully, trips and falls in Second Life never leave a bruise.

“Cold coffee” is actually right up my alley. I love a wall plastered with art that are put together as they fit, not in neat lines and matched sets. I like my clutter on my walls. I love her art. The “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer” cat picture makes me feel acquisitive. I want it. There is restraint here without a lot on the floor.
“Dust” is a clever name since into every home some dust must come. This is another room with her trademark maximalism but still restrained. I love the abundance of plants which also need dusting to shine like that. When I was a kid and visited my sister for a weekend, she would almost always have me polish her philodendron, a lush monster that completely encircled her kitchen. This makes me think of sitting with her, both of us carefully wiping each leaf of dust before polishing lightly. I love the books and the quirky art. It’s just all so appealing.
Tab Tatham has style and whether she’s styling a fashion pic or a decor pic, the end result is unlike anything anyone else would even think of. She has an uncanny knack for pulling things out of her closet and putting them together in ways that make me think “of course, that’s exactly what it needs” and wondering how she does it.
