Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Micah Volmaire’s “Timeless - Part I” brought my browsing to a dead stop. Both Monet and Van Gogh painted iconic pictures of haystacks. Micah’s screenshot from Walsh County evokes the feeling of a Monet with its beautiful light. [To teleport click here.] I love the way the furrows lead our eyes into the distance toward the faint and indistinct building in the distance. I love the depth of focus contrasting the sharpness of the bird, most of the haystack, and the furrowed field and the soft focus of the wheat in the foreground and the distant farms.

“Timeless - Part II” is a companion piece to what will likely be a three part series similar to his Simpler Times series from last fall. It was taken at Bryn Oh’s Lobby Cam. These pictures reveal a deep nostalgia for the past. That time seems simpler, perhaps because we remember the good and forget the bad. [To teleport, click here.]
“The Magic in Books” is one from his album of Conceptual pictures. It reminds me of when I used to read books under a quilt using one of my dad’s trouble lights. The light bulb is a visual double entendre suggesting surreptitious reading into the night and how books illumine our world, enriching our lives.
Micah Volmaire’s is a mix of stunning landscapes and avatar pictures with some vendor pictures for his Second Life shape, tattoos, and eyes store. He gives teleport SLurls for Second Life tourists. His picture descriptions often contain poetry and his thoughts and ideas that inspired the picture.
