Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
The Base of Bad Ideas specializes in portraits. “Post-Human” is a striking example. Mr. Base microblogs his self-portraits such as this gruesome picture. What I love about his work is that he is not afraid of the dark. The people and their details emerge out of the shadows. Details may be hidden in the darkness, but they are not lost.

“Judgment” is a devilishly appealing portrait. Notice how he chooses a colored light that sets a mood and reflects a color in the picture, bringing it out. I love the simplicity of his pictures, just the avatar and the light.
“Vecna” is so striking. The pose is everything and the strategically-placed snake serves the dual purpose of keeping it on this side of Google’s happy face and gives us a reason for his careful high-stepping.
The Base of Bad Ideas shows a person does not need fancy sets, gorgeous landscapes, or anything really except a plain wall and a projector light. His pictures are so simple, yet profound. If you admire his style, he is actually offering to take free portraits. He explains it on Flickr, click here.
