Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Ice Rock demonstrates that where you are shooting from is as important as what you are shooting at when taking a picture.
Take “The Lighthouse”. By shooting low, the moon seems even bigger. I love how the lighthouse light crosses into the night, dividing the picture into three separate horizontal lines, it’s amazing. He also chose Pink Floyd’s “The Great Gig in the Sky” as your soundtrack for your visit to B Sori.
And here is your rowboat link to B Sori.

“Caught Out in the Rain” had me clicking to zoom in to understand what I was seeing. That’s because we are more used to seeing pictures from the outside looking in, but this one is from the inside looking out.
The foreground is the books and musician statues on a table. The woman seems reflected in the window at first, but then you realize she is not. What is outside and what is inside creates this visual tension that is perfection in capturing our concentration.
His choice of music is a lovely Spanish guitar instrumental by Jacob Gurevitsch called “Lovers in Paris.”
“Waiting for a Train” is another picture of a person in the rain and again, we are seeing them imperfectly, through the transparent umbrella.
Is it his umbrella carelessly tossed on the ground or one left behind by someone unable to close it in time to get it through the train’s door? We can spin stories out of less. For some reason, it makes me think of the phrase from I Corinthians 13, about seeing imperfectly, “through a glass, darkly.”

Ice Rock’s photostream is small and new, just begun this month, but I like his effort to look at things from a different point of view. Most of his pictures are of him or his girlfriend, or the two of them together, but his real power is in looking at the world and its people from the outside.
