Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Peuxswau’s picture may seem familiar to readers. That’s because she was inspired by one of the most famous photos taken by Herb Ritts, the Versace Veiled Dress shown in the lower left of the montage of his photos in this article about him. It’s also further down the page in a larger size. Peuxswau did a great job of offering homage without replicating him.

“Chi Chi gets inked” does double duty. It’s inspired by Adam Isaac Jackson (see the background tattoo art) and by Norman Rockwell who painted “The Tattoo Artist” in 1944. Women replacing the men in the 1944 picture adds to the transgressive quality of the picture.
Speaking of transgressive, “Grand Voroznia Circa 1973” pictures Divine whose artistry was highlighted in music and film, particularly in John Waters’ films. Hairspray is perhaps the most famous collaboration, but Pink Flamingos would be a close second.
Peuxswau is one of those artists who are hard to write about because I want to pick everything. Then again, some of my favorite picks would not be safe for your work computer. She has a wild imagination and does not limit herself by conforming to any constraints. She makes me smile, sometimes laugh out loud, and never bores me. She has a deep grasp on art and photography. Her inspired by photos are immediately recognizable without ever being derivative. Just follow her unless you’re easily offended.
