Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Panjin is the first picture in a new Flickr group devoted to pictures taken at a brand new sim of the same name by Jade Koltai, a name familiar to sim connoisseurs. She is a long-time sim designer, working on her own and in collaboration with the late Serene Footman. Panjin has the same spare restraint that makes her work so appealing to Second Life photographers. I love how she uses the foreground to frame the piers in the background.
I love that there are so few colors, yet it is vibrating with color. It is based on the real life Panjin ("Red Beach") in China. The red flower is Suaeda salsa, a member of the Amaranth family.

May Coba illustrates why bloggers love beautiful sims for their photos. Frankly, I am not fond of the too-too-too-diagonal photos, but this pic works because it’s broader than the avatar, using the diagonal to capture more of the background. This picture is simply stunning. With the fog in the environment, the red flowers in the marshes almost seem like volcanic fires.
Oh wow, Burleh Leonard’s stark picture gives us black, white, and red. Abstracted into black, white, and red, this is a landscape as pure as possible, but so beautiful.
Pedro’s picture could be an official souvenir postcard. I love how the leading lines from the pier are echoed in the river.
Panjin Flickr group will blow you away with the stunning pictures, though, of course, they have a lot to work with. It was the designer’s eye that laid those walkways and dragged that river. Go visit the Flickr group and of course visit the sim.
