Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Adachi Yasumori’s “I Will Find You” is a fabulous picture. The avatar does have that implacable mood of the title, the intrepid hero pacing himself, not scrambling through the sheep, but moving with a slow, determined pace that will outlast any galloping hunter. Or is he the hero? He could be the bad guy chasing down the good guys.

This is titled “Ծ,” an Armenian letter. I hit pronounce over and over and still can’t pronounce it. In high school, I loved the Regency romance novels with the dashing Byronesque heroes who were clearly much nicer people than Lord Byron. In this picture, Adachi could be one of those Regency heroes. Of course, the villains were all dashing, too, but they went to the Hellfire Club.
In this untitled picture, he plays a samurai. He looks ready for anything except snow. This samurai picture is deceptive though. At first glance, you might think he is from the sixteenth or seventeenth century, but look more closely at his hat and you will see the ornamentation is made of video feeds, perhaps that feed a 360° view, perhaps through the ocular nerves of his white eye. It looks very painful.
Adachi Yasumori’s stream is a mix of contemporary fashions and role-playing. I thought the role-playing pictures were particularly fascinating as they are sort of equivocal. The avatar could be a hero or an anti-hero. This makes them far more interesting since there is no end to the stories one could weave about them. His account is new and there are only thirteen photos, but they are all enjoyable.
