Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Noa Cloud is an extraordinary landscape photographer in Second Life. He also runs an art galley featured in the Destination Guide, his equally extraordinary sim, REN, where the flora are cycled monthly to follow the season’s bloom. I always love it when we get some fauna with the flora as in this “Cloven Forest” picture with a bunny casting a come-hither glance over the shoulder at the other bunny. This was taken at a sim that closed June 1st, alas.

“Hydrangea Boat” was taken at his home for which he, wisely, did not provide a landmark. While the boat is not leaking and filling with water, there is something Ophelia-like about the way it sits all flower-shrouded in the water.
I love this picture and the composition details are excellent. Following the rule of odd numbers, there are seven posts in the water and three birds on the post. The shoreline and posts form a diagonal leading line and the ocean and sky function almost as vast white space.
Noa Cloud’s stream is overflowing with beauty of the soft, romantic kind. His landscapes make me think of Wordsworth’s and the Romantics who glorified nature. But that’s a Western association and perhaps there are poets from Japan who could better capture the beauty. I like, for instance:
