Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Ayden Huntsman creates a mix of striking self-portraits and gorgeous landscapes such as this one “After the Rain.” I love the faint halo on the left and, if you look closely, the flock of birds in the distance. I am glad that the birds are so small. It conveys the feeling of distance so well. I also love the faint glimmer on the edge of the rocks and the boat where the sunlight hits them. I think he was wise to make this a duotone because fine details like the light on the edge of the rocks would be less noticeable in color.

“Exploring” is an intriguing and beautiful picture. I love the bright blue coming through the clouds and outlining the leaves and branches of the tree on the right. Usually when people shoot a waterfall, they capture the entire falls, but Ayden frames the picture so almost the entire cascade is below the frame. We see only the first drop at the very bottom edge and the brilliant rainbow created by sunlight on the water droplets splashed into the air by the waterfall.
“A Slow Night in Hillvale” is full of the frenetic energy of the city. (Map/teleport links in the description.) Vibrant colors, cars, a couple pedestrians, all bright and moving. Blurring the pavement arrows suggests movement and speed, making the title ironic. I love how it is just slightly canted to the left, the street and its arrows leading us to the concentration of signage and lights. Cast above the street, the “Slow Slow” sign seems to suggest perhaps two pedestrians is a slow night after all.
Ayden Huntsman has a fun stream to browse. He captures fabulous landscapes, big as a galaxy and small as a desktop. He also snaps self-portraits, often pensive and in repose. He also snaps some of the wildlife, often with a bit of humor. Thanks, Cecilia, for the tip.
