Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Maria Rodriguez created this gorgeous and exciting picture for the #SundayFunday photo challenge. The challenge is a Flickr group for Second Life residents who are given a prompt with three weeks to come up with and create a photo. This is her submission. It is named “Lost in the city's symphony, she becomes one with the rhythm of urban nights." It is an excellent capture of that idea, of music carrying you away, merging you into the world where you are or where you want to be. I will say, though, that this makes me think more of jazz music than classical.

“Focused on the road ahead, but never forgetting the journey behind. Driving forward with clarity, leaving no regrets in the rear-view mirror.” This picture is a great illustration of her quotation and is one of the better uses of a mirror, though I am pretty sure this is from post-processing, not PBR. It’s just very well done, not showing too much of her face.
“Always Half Full” is another stunning picture. She definitely did a lot of post-Second Life editing. After all, as far as I know nobody makes neat styled hair that is floating all over in the water on the other side. But that hair in the water needs to show the movement and diffusion of the water. It would never stay neat unless it were made of Legos. It’s another well done concept photo that expresses ideas more than just looking pretty.
Maria Rodriguez is an exciting artist. She creates pictures that express ideas captured in her picture titles. She also has lovely self-portrait and some, shall we say, rapturous pictures of her with her partner, so it’s best to browse on your own time and phone. You will enjoy her photostream. Some photos are gorgeous and some are simply great fun.
