Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Minnow is someone I discovered recently while surfing faves. I’ve forgotten the trail that led to Minnow, but it was a good one. I found several of the artists whom I have featured this last month.
This picture, though, was so arresting because it reminded me of a film I watched with one of my sisters when I was a child. I mean, look at that scarf! Thanks to my siblings, my head is cluttered with films I had no business watching when I was young. So, “Femme Fatale” may usually refer to a woman who kills others, but in this case I am pretty certain Minnow was thinking of the tragic Isadora Duncan, the famous dancer who revolutionized dance. Minnow provides credits in case you, too, want your avatar to risk a tragic accident.

“Black Dahlia” is another picture with a rich historical context though not to the outfit itself. Dahlias are such gorgeous, powerful flowers. I love to see the dahlia farms in bloom in the fall.
But this dahlia is metaphorical and so was its use to describe Elizabeth Short, a woman whose murder riveted the nation when it happened and true crime followers ever since. Her murder has never been solved. Now Minnow put this outfit together from items from three different creators. The mask was not paired with any of these items when it was created which just tells me Minnow is a styling genius. I love the simplicity with just the plain white background. It’s so very mod.
I love this picture “Hej!” which is simply “Hi!” in Danish and Swedish. The picture is so full of energy. Those bags swing wildly yet remain yet we all know they will not fall. I am sure quantum mechanics has some explanation why that is so. I love the newsprint backdrop, the yellow glasses that riff of the yellow bags. (She must be at Ikea.) What fun! I hope she gets some pepparkakor.
Minnow is a fantastic stylist and photographer. She brings together great outfits with a mod sensibility - a bit of Seventies flair. She is also well-versed in art and history as shown by her picture titles and subjects. If you arrow through her stream and don’t look at her picture titles, you're missing half the story.
