Serena Marabana shoots some extraordinary pictures, both landscapes, self-portraits, and charming domestic scenes like “Bella’s Lullaby - The Hen.” The hen roosting on the chair is definitely the star of the show. Look how she is placed.

This is the same scene from another angle. If you squint, you can see the hen.
This is an excellent example of the Rule of Thirds. One-third grass with two-thirds of sky and two-thirds of buildings and one-third is open with a lighthouse. It is also an example of leading lines as you following the foundations of the buildings that lead your eye toward the lighthouse. This pic is beautifully composed.
Ethereal City is all about the leading line of that well-lit sidewalk that borders the river or bay. The boats docked alongside are in shadow, so are most of the brownstones that flank its left. It is has the added interest of that slightly wider spot by the riverside bar or coffeeshop. The line, though, is bright and irresistible, leading us toward the rest of the city. Serena Marabana takes such wonderful landscapes that it’s easy to forget she takes gorgeous pictures of avatars as well. Do check out her stream on your own time and your own device as there are a few racy pictures. You could change your Flickr filter, but those pictures are also beautiful and well worth seeing.
