Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
A’s “Aurel” was such a surprise to see because my best friend and I had been discussing megalodons just last week. It’s the sort of conversation one has when one’s best friend is a biologist. The photo is striking on its own with the sunlight filtering down through the water, but adding the recent conversation made it material for a deeper dive (pun intended) in search of megalodons.

Wanders Nowhere warns us “The Megalodon Is Coming.” So, this is a vendor ad, but such a genius vendor ad, I thought it was a movie spoof. What I love about this, aside from spoofing a movie, is that just a small part of the megalodon is showing and it’s still just as fearsome and scary. I love the shark in the moonlight, the moon low against the horizon. It’s a beautiful picture, a great movie spoof, and really subtle about being an ad.
Wanders obligingly posted this pic to give us all a sense of perspective. Megalodon is not just a big shark, not just the biggest shark, it's a mega-shark. It could swallow a house.
Amy ÐαϮé کpires Đ'ɪbєƖìи points out the obvious, while we landlubbers can scare ourselves silly with movies like Jaws and Sharknado, the megalodons of Second Life pose a serious threat to merpeople. She has a very different mer persona than others I have seen with legs and a tail. I love the bold pink and blue flora that bring so much color to her picture.
🔱 Matticus Merrow 🔱’s “Free Megalodon” gives us a friendlier seeming megalodon being cheered on by a merman as he leaps through the air, is he performing like Willy? I think this megalodon will be forever free.
Sudashi’s “Abnormality Eventures: The Game” makes me think of a comic strip with multiple scenes. I hope she looks behind her before she is lunch. I like how she made this like a comic strip and think the way her text box mirrors her trident is pure genius.
Tiny UwU points out a truth we should all remember. “You’re the Predator Right Up Until You’re the Prey”. There is a trident sticking out of the megalodon’s cheek (if that’s what you call it) which suggests Tiny poked the bear, so to speak.
Honey Gladsong says “The Humans Were Wrong” ups the ante with a ghost megalodon. As if ghosts were not enough and giant prehistoric sharks were not enough, she’s got to double down? I love all the lights even though the very concept of ghost megalodon is enough to shiver me timbers.
There are more pics of megalodon in the waters of Second Life, confirming it is alive and well in the 21st century, in pixels at least.
