Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Avalon Evergarden 🌿 has a lovely blog called My World Vortex SL. This morning she posted this lovely decor post, her #1929 that she called Imegica. From her past posts to this one today, she reveals we share a fondness for rattan. I am in love with her use of several rattan lampshades in her lighting arrangement. (I hope she’s using LED bulbs!) There’s also rattan for the base of the bench and the snake plants. I also love the metal lantern on the floor. I wish she had credited it. The carpet is one I would love to have in my new apartment. While SL me loves the wrinkle, RL me sees a trip hazard. Plus ça change…

The Dawn (#1927) is my kind of morning. I made manakeesh for breakfast this morning and two baguettes-to-be are rising while I write this post. (I stole some of the baguette dough to make the manakeesh.) I don’t make my scones like these, but then I’ve never made cheese scones. They sound delicious. However, I covet that pour-over coffee maker. It’s beautiful, a work of art. If I had that in my kitchen, I might just look at it and not even make the coffee, it’s that beautiful. I also covet that tea canister. I love tea and have about a dozen blends in my cupboard and not one has a canister this pretty. Now, if she had just credited that lovely ivy in the hobnail glass vase…

There are many reasons to follow Avalon Evergarden’s My World Vortex SL, The pictures are gorgeous. Her eye for design and decor is unerring. She creates lush home environments that don’t feel overstuffed and claustrophobic. She provides clear credits with links and doesn’t over rely on events. She actually goes to stores which has become a novel idea.
I do wish she credited everything in her pics because there are far too many things in SL to hunt them down without a clue. She explained her rationale in her Flickr About page, “The things I don't put in the credits are from stores that are not my sponsors, it's not fair to disclose things from stores that never thank the bloggers, I hope you understand me…” Of course, many creators look to see if bloggers have credited them in the past to decide whether or not to add them to their list of sponsored bloggers, so she might lose some sponsors that way.
I also think she should do more self-promotion so someone who wanders to her blog can find her Flickr stream and her Instagram. She should probably put her new blog address in her Flickr About page but she does link it in her pictures. The idea is to make it easy for folks to find you, wherever you are. Aside from those quibbles, though, I love her aesthetic whether she is blogging decor, food, or fashion.
