Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
SL - Beauty of Sailing is a small group with just over 500 members who celebrate the sailing world. Sailing is one of the first things I did in Second Life with a 1 Linden sailboat from EnkyThings. I know there are fancy ones that respond to the winds of the the Linden Ocean, but I do love my 1 Linden sailboat.
Yorkie Bardeen posted this gorgeous picture of the North Sea Bandit Regatta, according to Yorkie there were just two seconds between the first and second place finishers. Looks exciting and these are the kind of sailboats where you have to know what you’re doing.

***kitty*** posted “Only the Wind and Sea” with the gorgeous sunset at the Western Cape. [To teleport: click here] I love how sunsets set the water on fire, figuratively of course.
Mara Telling posted this gorgeous “The Water’s Been Waiting Long Enough.” She was invited on a sail on the Blake Sea. I love the strong contrast of the blacks and whites. It’s simply lovely.
MelinaSue Lawrence posted Sundown, another stunning sunset. In the comments, she said her boat was a freebie on Marketplace.
The sailors of Second Life know how to have fun. SL - Beauty of Sailing is a fun and lovely group. It is all moderated well with nobody dumping inappropriate and off-topic photos. Well, people probably do dump those pictures but moderators reject them. These vandals make so much work for group moderators who often get discouraged and quit, leaving the group to be overrun with litter. Happily, this group’s moderators remain on the job.

I totally adore all kinds of boating in SL. I think it's one thing that many people who have heard of SL but have never been in don't know how about the platform. They may have heard about the salacious side of things and so write the platform off. I owned a sailing boat (24 ft yacht) for 13 years IRL, but in the end had to sell it. Sailing in SL helps me scratch that itch IRL. Often when I am feeling a bit stressed from work and life IRL, jumping into SL and doing some boating calms me down and makes me feel positive again. For me the big difference between boating in SL and using a simulator program is seeing others boating at the same time in SL. It makes you feel a part of something even if you are not an active member of a community.
