Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
RigTorok shared this picture of what I first thought was a dogwood before realizing it has one too many leaves. Perhaps it’s a pear tree. Whatever kind of tree it is, it is lovely. It is just one of the nearly 10,000 pictures in the Flowers of Second Life group. With 785 members, it’s fairly active and blissfully well-moderated. Maelyn S shot this lovely picture of poppies called Les Coquelicots. I love how the flowers follow the leading line of the river. They are a beautiful foreground that draws our eyes and then leads us deeper into the forest. Simply lovely. [To teleport, click here]
Paul didn’t just make flowers the focus. One flower is the entire picture. Blip Mumfuzz’s Untitled picture of Cogon grass is striking. The grass are lit against a black background allows us to see the individual feathers clustered like clouds around the stalk. It’s so lovely, it’s a shame it’s an invasive species. [To teleport, click here]
I love flowers. So much so, I forgot I wrote about Flowers of Second Life back in March. I wrote an entire column before coming upon pictures I had seen before, so you know the group will be active. You really should check it out, join the group, and pick some flowers.
