Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting

Vi Takeda calls herself a “Style Chameleon” and a more perfect description can not be found. Her avatar has been through the wars, her hands bloody and bandaged with spider veins on her arms. It’s pouring rain, but she’s still determined and taking no prisoners. Her face says it all. They will regret making her mad.

“ROA” is her most popular photo and I can easily see that. It hits you on different levels. For me, when I first glanced at it, it felt very late 19th century as though she would be wearing a skirt that fell to the ground. Her collar struck me as being like a jabot and then there is the umbrella, something you never think of as futuristic. But this picture is in the future. Her cybernetic eye. The clear poly jacket, the zippered neckline of her shirt, the device she is holding, and of course, the clear plastic umbrella. It’s still going to rain in 2525, if man is still alive. In the description, she tells us the pic is named after a band in her home country Romania called Rise of Artificial. It fits, there’s no wool, cotton, silk, or linen here.

“Brat” appeals to my love of pop art. It feels very early 70s pop, but again with the futuristic cyber elements. Those gloves do things. I am sure she can run satellite tracking systems from her left hand. But can they pop popcorn? I love the whole red and yellow vibe right down to the red eyes. 

Vi Takeda has a cyber predilection, though her stream has much more than that. She can look like she’s a character in an Oscar Wilde story one day and then visit the fair in Euphoria the next. She’s a fun and exciting person to follow and I very much appreciate that she tells us about her pictures and what she is thinking about when creating them.
