Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Darcey Blakewell’s “Midnite Texts” is telling a story. I’m not sure what story, but perhaps because I love mysteries, I imagine her as a bold private detective whose caustic wit would keep readers in stitches while aggravating the secondary characters like the police, suspects, even clients. There’s a car driving off, setting the mood of mystery. I love it.

“Ordinary Girl” shows Darcey in the role of an (extra)ordinary woman. After all, farming is no longer an ordinary occupation, though perhaps she is a hobby farmer or she stables her horse on someone else’s farm and delegates the chores. The best evidence for the latter is all the rips in the jeans. You don’t want holes in your jeans when you are dealing with hay. Trust me. It’s like itching powder. I love the natural look of this picture, how relaxed she is. It also shows another feature of her work, the warm lighting that is just so inviting.
“I Could Write You Poems” is a beautiful picture. Again, the pose is so natural and I love the dubious look she’s giving. I guess it is literally side eye. Her avatar is stunning and unusual with the strong features of a Rossetti as in The Day Dream or Proserpine.
Darcey Blakewell’s work is delightful, full of her out and about surfing, horseback riding (both English and Western,) bike-riding, and lazing at the beach. She takes pics with friends and with her significant other. There are great couples pictures of them doing things together as well as passionate pics, though ones that won’t get you in trouble with HR. What I love most about her pictures is their natural sense of movement and being in the world and their warmth that comes from their rich, saturated color and the slight yellow tint of the lighting. This makes her pictures so inviting.
