Free for all Patreon members, I just published a deep dive Q&A with Matthew Ball on the eve of his influential book, The Metaverse, hitting bookstores with a greatly expanded new edition.
Matt was one of the key individuals to make the Metaverse mainstream in the business world in recent years, which revived interest in long-running virtual worlds like Second Life and even helped lead to Facebook become Meta.
Since the first edition, of course, "Metaverse" itself has lost its luster as a buzzword in Silicon Valley -- so can it even be recovered as a term, and restored to prominence?
Or as I put it to Matt:
"Looking back at the hype wave of say, 2020 to 2022 -- do you think there's anything we could have done in retrospect to avoid the backlash that did happen?"
