Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Just Cheeky is not afraid of the dark. Why would she be when she finds such beauty waiting in the shadows? I love this picture she took at Alors with the moon shining through the clouds, the clouds brightened by moonlight, and a meteor falling to earth. The scene is subtly framed by the brush, barely visible in the shadows, but just enough to focus our eyes on the celestial drama. [To teleport to Alors, click here.]

“Dutch Coast” appeals to me for several reasons. You can see the Rule of Thirds at work not on the horizon but in the placement of the rocks which are a third of the way up from the bottom and start a third from the left side. The beach curves beautifully and the foam where the water meets the sand is a beautiful leading line. My favorite thing, though, is how the rocks, if you are just browsing, almost look like a rowing crew, all leaning forward as they draw through the water. Of course, when you see the picture full size and not in a thumbnail, their rocky solidity is apparent. They aren’t going anywhere soon. [To teleport to Dutch Coast, click here.]
“Wildflowers” is a gorgeous picture that also illustrates the Rule of Thirds. The horizon is a third from the top and the dandelion is a third from the right side of the picture. I love how clearly defined the dandelion is while the other wildflowers are less distinct. The sky has a brighter palette, the sunrise painting the clouds in pinks and yellows.
Just Cheeky shoots the most amazing skies. She loves the interplay of light and shadow and many of her pictures are quite dark with a whisper of light asking you to take a closer look. If you do, you will be rewarded.
