In recent weeks my social media has low key exploded with interest in "inZOI" -- Steam page here -- the quirky name for an upcoming life simulator/character creator game from South Korean-based company KRAFTON. This is happening only months (weeks?) after the mysterious sudden cancelling of Life by You, Rod Humble's highly anticipated life simulator.
Much of the interest was generated after KRAFTON briefly released the character creator tool, leading to highly buzzed influencer videos like this on TikTok and YouTube:
The character creator is ridiculously robust and ultra-realistic (moreso than Life by You let alone the Sims franchise), veering toward the very edge of the uncanny valley and maybe plummeting head first right in. KRAFTON the company has been pretty closed mouth about the game, so here's more from the Steam page:
Experience various aspects of life!
inZOI is a life simulation game where the player can alter any aspect of their world to create unique stories and experiences. Just like in the real world, you can find jobs to make a living while forming deep relationships through interactions. With a complete community simulation of every character acting on their free will, you can experience unexpected events to feel the various emotions life has to offer. With inZOI, we hope to share the message that "life itself is the true gift, and every journey has its own meaning."
Live the life of your dreams!
inZOI provides a variety of creative tools, so that players can visualize the life they've always dreamed of. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game's realistic graphics allows the players to let their imagination run free, with easy creation of different resources. Customize your character's appearance and outfit and build your custom home using a wide selection of freely-movable furniture and structures. You can also adjust different parts of your property and surrounding roads as well as aspects of your residing city for a fully customizable experience.
Hardware requirements are notably high, especially for a genre of game that usually targets casual players: Recommend specs are 8 GB RAM in your graphics card and 75 GB on your hard drive, on par with high-end AAA RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077. So it'll be interesting to see how this hits with non-core consumers.
What's your own interest in inZOI, readers? Could this be a third life worth exploring?

The inZoi recommended specs state 8G VRAM, not "16 GB RAM in your graphics card" as you said.
