Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
International Dog Day earlier this week inspired me to look for photographs of Second Life’s canines, which eventually led me to the Flickr group, Me & My Dog Second Life. I found this wonderful picture by Alsation Kidd shot at Mother Road in a lovely coincidence. That’s a happy, well-balanced dog. He must be wearing a seat belt, at least I hope so. (One way to celebrate Dog Day, by the way, would be to get your dog a seat belt.)

Patty Bartavelle is serenading her four dogs. Her picture made me wonder if J. D. Vance also disapproves of childless dog ladies, or are only cat owners on his list of enemies of the state. It’s so puerile how Vance politicized having a pet. He owns a German Shepherd which suggests that he sees his dog as a projection of his ego. My super-conservative brother has always preferred chihuahuas while my first three dogs were Shepherds. I think politicizing pets, cats or dogs, is as childish as they come.
Roxaane shows how even Second Life dogs maintain their killer focus on balls that can be thrown. When throw, hooman, when?
Nala captures the incredibly loving gaze dogs give humans. Isn’t it wonderful to look into eyes that love you the way a dog loves you?
Me and My Dog Second Life is an active group with 351 members and over 6500 photos of Second Lifers and their dogs. It’s fun to see so many people enjoying the dogs of Second Life.
