Gamers for Harris, a creative coalition of fan activists and Harris supporters in the game industry, today announced a YouTube livestream, followed by a series of online “house parties,” to help rally America’s many millions of gamers in support of electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Scheduled for broadcast October 16, 5pm PT/8pm ET, viewers can watch and join the live conversation on YouTube. Sign up here to get the broadcast link, updates, and the Gamers for Harris badges:http://bit.ly/gamersforharris
Headlined by Overwatch star Anjali Bhimani (Apex Legends, Critical Role, Dimension 20, Ms. Marvel), actor and tabletop gamer Wil Wheaton (Star Trek), Wes Johnson (The Elder Scrolls, Star Trek, Fallout) and over a dozen leading actors and developers, the event will highlight how gamers, fans, and the industry stand to benefit from a Harris/Warris administration – and the dangers posed by Donald Trump and JD Vance’s extreme Project 2025 agenda.
“We love playing games because they give us control and agency over the story,” said Anjali Bhimani. “Voting is how we can all do that in real life.”
Viewers who pledge their support during the event will win special Gamers for Harris achievement badges they can display on their social media accounts, including Voter, Phone Banker, and the all-important boss level, Canvasser.
Gamers comprise 61% of the US population, according to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), with the most avid gamers over-indexed among males ages 18-34. If Kamala Harris becomes the first female president, the Executive Office will see another first: Tim Walz, described in the New York Times as a fan of the Sega Dreamcast video game console, will be America’s first known gamer in line to the Presidency.
