Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Yanash Vaniva is a Second Life artist who has several exhibitions in-world, but she also shares her art on Flickr. I was drawn to this picture and not just because green is my favorite color. There is this fluidity in the air and his back curves with the wind. It’s even more striking because he is in silhouette. I can almost feel the air moving.

“Linee” is a fun homage to Piet Mondrian. With her Mondrian skin in her Mondrian room, she is Mondrian Squared. I love the humor this picture reveals.
“Battico” shows a woman who bends backwards while on her knees in what seems a very extreme version of the hero pose framed from above the head. That made it initially confusing for me, confusing, but beautiful, what with the flowers, the mask. You might think she’s posed in nothingness, black nothingness, but you can see the corners of walls lit with a glimmer of blue. It’s simply extraordinary.
Yanash Vaniva has a stream of beautiful and intriguing pictures. If you cannot make it to her exhibitions in-world, be sure to see what she shares on Flickr.

Cajsa’s Choices is devoted to unique, artistic, and innovative virtual world-based images and screenshots that showcase the medium as an art form and Second Life as a creative platform. (Generally not images that fit on this Bingo card.)
Cajsa Lilliehook is a seventeen year resident of Second Life, where she owned a photo studio, spent several years as a DJ at The Velvet, and for her first SL job, cleaned up prim trash. She co-founded and runs the It’s Only Fashion blog with her best friend Gidge Uriza. She also has a book review blog, Tonstant Weader Reviews and a cooking blog, Single Serving Recipes. She spends a lot of time researching and reporting on Republican sexual predators.
