Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Azura Mistwalker is a thoughtful photographer, usually supplying the SLurl link, allowing folks who like her pictures to check out the location for themselves. She mostly shoots land and cityscapes in a way that invites viewers to seek them out. Take this photo Mångata, the song Azura cites as inspiration. It shows a woman who appears to be running even though it was a dark and stormy night.. She framed the picture using the rule of thirds and she makes us want to check out that alley and learn what she is running from or running towards.

This picture features the same place as the picture adobe even though it’s take nearly a year later. In this picture, she’s looking up on a sunny day. The bright sun blows out the sky but illuminates the alleyway. The lines of the building and its fire escapes draw our eyes upward toward the sun. I love her use of leading lines, right down to the pipes in the foreground.
In “Faith,” Azura is looking down at the peninsula below. Since it’s cut off on the left, peninsula is merely an assumption. It could be an island, too. You might laugh but this bird’s eye view reminds me of Katsushika Hokusai’s “Under the Wave Off Kanagawa..” It’s not exact, of course, and quite likely unintentional, but the island curves a bit, like the wave, and the cluster of rocks makes me think of the spindrift, the foaming edge that leads the wave. There’s also an umbrella and a visitor on this island, though not under the wave.
Azura Mistwalker takes excellent landscapes. She has an intriguing capacity for highlighting the unusual, for seeing familiar landscapes in a new way. That makes her stream exciting and a good one worth following.
