Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Damien Father (Father Daddy) has an exciting photostream. Regular readers will know I am a huge fan of pop art. I cannot resist pictures like this. Really, all they did was create a duotone in red with their snap and make a few repeats. But the idea is always what makes pop art special. I mean, most anyone could paint a Campbell’s Tomato Soup Can, but no one thought of doing that until Andy Warhol in 1961. I’ve seen the soup cans arrayed in a long line from one room to another and they are overwhelming and far more interesting and imposing than you might think.
I also have to point out the subtle cleverness of choosing that shade so that the face seems also a repeat of the background. I love everything about this pic. This is titled “Super Villain” which is also kind of clever as there is no outward manifestation of villainy, but that is the point, villainy comes from within not without.

“Dream” is another fabulous art piece. The outfit is a sort of Gothic Baroque with the huge shoulder is suggestive of the human skeleton with a central spine and ribs radiating out from it. I love how Father Daddy saw that motif and ran with it to Pop Art Town, taking ten skeletal arms and embracing their avatar with them. This picture makes me think of the Mahakali, the ten-armed Hindu goddess of time and death. I love the choice of pink. It’s hard to make pink eerie, but Father Daddy succeeds.
“Random” is, as they pointed out in the description, heavily edited. It feels like a painting thanks to the texture added in editing. I love its simplicity in form while complexity has found its way in color and texture. The skin is thousands of tiny colored specks. Blowing it up, you can see how amazing it is. I love this picture.
Damien Father has such a fascinating stream. They have these great pop art pieces right next to Gothic Baroque outfits with a bit of Gothlita and then some delicate take on kawaii. I guess the one thing you can expect is the unexpected because thanks to an unlimited imagination.
