Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Talloulah Warra might be the queen of Resting Implacable Face. the stronger, braver, bolder cousin of RBF, a term I dislike because of the implicit demand to smile when there is no reason to smile. The title of this picture is “The heart is a muscle and I want to make it strong” from the Gang of Youth song by David Le'aupepe. You can see the flower petals are blowing away from her crown, though her crown remains firmly anchored, perhaps suggesting strength in a crisis. I like how this picture expresses a feeling of resolute fortitude no matter what crises may loom.

Talloulah goes a step or two beyond implacable to downright ornery in “Awake My Soul.” She is ready to take names. I love how just the tile of her head and looking (glaring) through her half-closed lids makes her look so ready to take on the world without a qualm.
“I won’t be no runaway” puts me in mind of someone who is not afraid of bad weather. Someone willing to stand as witness to disaster and calumny without shirking, without fear. She is bold, brave, and ready for anything.
Talloulah Warra takes mostly pictures of her avatar. On the surface, her stream is very conventional, full of pictures of herself in different fashions and varied stages of dress and undress, but taking a closer look, reading the titles she chose for her pictures, there is a lot going on under the surface and it’s subtly subversive. She avoids smiling or trying to look cute, abashed or surprised. Her neutral face is not really neutral; it’s determined. She might not be visibly angry, but she is not going quietly.
