Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Sara Baez, like most of the artists I feature, is someone I have never met. Still I know one thing for sure about Sara. She likes dogs. Sara is not just a dog-lover, she’s head over heels for dogs. How do I know? Dogs are in nearly every picture she takes. Often there are other animals, too, but the central theme is dogs, dogs, and more dogs. She must spend a fortune on virtual kibble.
She wrote this about her picture, “Nem todo conto de fadas precisa de um príncipe às vezes, só precisa de sapos falantes e coelhos atentos” which translates into, “Not every fairy tale needs a prince sometimes, it just needs talking frogs and attentive rabbits.:” If this is her fairy tale come true, then she is the princess.

For this one, she wrote “When life gives you lemons, have a chaotic and stylish photo shoot!” or “Quando a vida te der limões, faça um ensaio fotográfico caótico e estiloso!” I agree, photo shoots are fun when they capture moments of chaos. I see one of the dogs is dressed as a hot dog. I hope no one takes a bite. The picture is fun. It’s fun to see animals dressed up on little outfits, but if I tried to do that to my cat, I would not have a face left.
Sara encourages us to relax and enjoy life’s many moments: “A felicidade está nas pequenas coisas: o calor do sol na pele, o sussurro do vento, a companhia silenciosa da natureza. Às vezes, tudo o que precisamos é desacelerar e sentir a vida acontecer”-- which in English translates to:
“Happiness is in the little things: the warmth of the sun on your skin, the whisper of the wind, the silent company of nature. Sometimes, all we need is to slow down and feel life happen.”
I like that phrase, Feel Life Happen. It could be a bumper sticker. Maybe “Breathe, and feel life happen.” It’s good advice. Sometimes we are paying so much attention to what is happening elsewhere, we forget to pay attention to what is happening where we are.
Sara Baez is a microblogger, sharing her outfit details in her picture descriptions. I like her work. There is something comforting about her pics. It’s not just the animals, there’s also he mood she creates with colors, a concordance between her and the setting.
I also love the little sayings that seem original, little bits of advice and enjoyment of life. Every language has some special words that convey something specific that I wish we had in English. For example, the word nefelibata, a Portuguese and Spanish word meaning “someone who walks in the clouds, a cloud walker”, but in the best possible way, someone whose life is rich in imagination and creativity. When I look at Sara's pictures, I think of the word nefelibata.
